1What certificate do I need to work offshore?
To work offshore in any role the minimum certification required is an OPITO approved BOSIET or STCW-95 offshore safety certificates including personal survival techniques, fire prevention and fire flighting, elementary first aid and personal safety and social responsibility. A valid offshore medical is also required. Depending on the position you are hoping to work in you will also require various training certificates. 2What Qualifications do I need to apply?
Hydenlyne looks to gain the best calibre consultants for their projects. A degree level qualification in a relevant field is always helpful. Along with that we look for a proven track record of completed projects in the field. We look for people of all backgrounds to add to our extensive database.

4Do you only deal with seismic projects?
No! Hydenlyne has an established base in seismic projects, however we have the knowledge and the experienced personnel for other projects including well site geology, aerial site surveys, offshore wind farms, dredging, drilling, decommissioning, pipeline and cable laying, and civil engineering projects.
5What projects have you worked on?
Hydenlyne has worked on a variety of offshore projects including baseline surveys as well as 2D, 3D, 4D, OBN and VSP seismic surveys. We provide consultants with experience in an extensive range of project types.
6Where have you worked?
Hydenlyne has worked on projects all over the world, including Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America and Antarctica. Our consultants have experience spanning the globe.
7Who do you work for?
We have worked for many of the large oil companies and a number of seismic contractors including Tullow Oil, Repsol, Exxon, Shell, Total, Chevron, Aker BP, COSL, Cobra Energy, Murphy Oil, WesternGeco, Shearwater Geoservices, CGG, PGS, TGS, GXT, Polarcus, Magseis, BGP and Seabird Exploration. We are always open to new opportunities in offshore and land based work.
8How does Hydenlyne support its consultants in the field?
Hydenlyne provides all of its in-field consultants with full office support. Our head office includes experts in land and marine seismic and marine biology, along with experienced MMO/PAM operatives and seismic QCs. We provide 24 hour support from the start to end of all projects. Our consultants are fully covered by our insurance during their contract term.
9How does Hydenlyne select its consultants?
Hydenlyne looks to gain the best calibre consultants for our projects; our selection process is based upon a review of individual experience and qualifications. We aim to conduct face to face or telephone interviews with our consultants to discuss their experience, personality, qualifications and health. We also request references from our consultants, where possible this will be a previous employer and a colleague who is known to Hydenlyne.
